Favorite Things - Week of Sept 11th

It is starting to really feel like fall in Colorado which has been exciting, along with the changing season we have quite a bit packed into our calendar so I’ll get right into it!

  • Recent time with my family, my parents came into town for a few days and we had a fun time catching up with them. Unfortunately the weather was not great and we had to change our plans around a little but still had a fun few days showing them around Denver and Boulder.

  • Have been thinking about Italy…. This Tuscan style house tour is stunning, total dream house goals here. Also dreaming of the Amalfi coast, while I am a little bit hopeful of pulling off an Italy trip with the little one next fall we aren’t really serious about planning anything just yet but boy did this article get me daydreaming . Also Danielle Moss recently went to Tuscany with her 2 and 4 year old and giving me major inspiration that we can indeed pull something off the later part of next year. Also the pregnancy cravings are making me really want all the pizza, pasta and gelato!

  • Primally pure products - I’ve used a handful of their products for awhile but recently am especially loving the oil cleanser. I had seen Sarah from Simply real health talk about it for a while and was a little hesitant as I didn’t love the sound of an oil based cleanser and didn’t really understand how it worked but should have tried it right away it really is amazing. Especially excited about it as it cools off and we head into our first dry Colorado winter. It truly is a mini spa-like moment at the end of the day. Also love their hand sanitizer, everything spray and deodorant those are all tried and true ones I’ve been using for awhile.

  • Prenatal Massage (they just keep getting better as I get further along) and the first MOPS meeting where I met some great ladies that I am looking forward to getting to know better over the next few months.

  • The fact that the Patagonia founder announced that he is turning the company over to an environmental trust. This New York times article outlines it all pretty well.

  • Starting to think about Christmas - okay I am totally getting ahead of myself need to slow down and enjoy fall! It is Teigan from Half Baked Harvest fault for sharing some Christmas ideas and I found myself browsing Anthropologie’s Christmas section. But am going to work up a Christmas inspiration looks post.

  • Just loving all things Fall, a few specifics being

    • Sweaters from my latest nuley order as fall rolls in and the bump continues to grow, this free people one is my current favorite and the one I am most considering keeping from this order.

    • HBH Favorite Fall Recipes list as I am starting to crank out soups, sweet potatoes, roasted root veggies and fall squash. I love cool weather, sweaters, leave changing but also love the fall foods!

    • This sweater pre-sale event from an ethical apparel boutique located outside of Charlotte. They talk these sweaters up like they are the best thing ever, I didn’t really believe it at first but after ordering one for myself and loving it so much that I ordered another for my sister for Christmas I can say this sweater really is everything they talk it up to be. I have and love the everyday crew new but this year ordered the boyfriend crew it hopes this style will be a little more pregnancy and postpartum friendly so I can actually get some use out of it this year. My everyday crew still works for now but not sure that will be the case in another month or two.

  • Aspen and Banff with Matt - didn’t really plan a “baby-moon” per say but we had two amazing weekend trips that just ended up being on back to back weekends that to me were the perfect baby moon if you want to call it that. I’ll include Banff in the next post. First we soaked up all the fall things in Aspen, we took a Friday off work and spent it at Maroon Bells. This was actually our third time to Maroon Bells and when we were driving there I thought to myself, is it even going to be that fun or exciting after having now been several times? HA wrong was it, seeing it with the perfect dusting of snow from the night before on a crisp fall morning as the Aspens were beginning to change was nothing short of amazing! I actually think this was my favorite of our visits to this area so far. We also ate our way through Aspen, a few favorites from this trip were Meat and Cheese, Paradise bakery and Clark’s Oyster Bar. We also did the Cathedral Lake hike which was a tough one but so worth the effort as it was gorgeous!
