Favorite Things - Week of Jan 17th
We finally walked to Brawley’s for beers!! And even better because it was in the snow :). We have been talking about walking to our favorite bottle shop for so long it felt like a little victory to finally do it.
All the travel articles!! This week I’ve cleaning got the travel bug, loving this article featuring all inclusive resorts, these tree houses look amazing, and these Anthony Bourdain quotes are giving me all the feels.
Morning routine - it is something I’ve been trying to get down for a while but in all honestly I love the snooze button. Am getting better about starting by day off this way…
One to two snoozes
Start coffee
Spend some time in prayer and journaling
Skincare routine, get dressed, quick minimal hair and makeup for the day
Vitamins, easy breakfast and coffee
I’d like to continue to add on to this current routine and spend a little more time really enjoying the quiet simple moments in the morning before the work day really gets going. I liked a few ideas that I saw in this article from the good trade.
These PJs that I don’t need, I sleep in a soft old tee shirts and comfy sleep shorts. I don’t even want to buy these because I know I wouldn’t wear them very often but I love the print
5. This article about the electric car market
6. We watched The Wonder List specifically the Patagonia Episode (season 3 ep 2) and it was so good! I am sure we enjoyed it more than most because we are getting ready to travel to Patagonia but regardless if you have the desire to go or not it is a great episode.
7. This Capsule wardrobe post, I am especially a fan on the Vetta Capsule silk skirt. Not sure I can justify the cost per wear on this one considering I work from home full time now but it nonetheless is a great piece.
8. This site called Window Swap where you can swap windows and post your view from your window and also see other people’s views. I haven’t actually posted ours but sounds like something fun to maybe try soon.
9. This article about italians and food - there are so many wonderful things about italy but their approach to food and wine is by far one of the best things in my opinion. As someone interested in and always reading about different nutritional topics, it is so interesting to read about all the things they get right and unfortunately also think about all the things we here in the US get wrong.
Focus on fresh foods, so much of the normal diet in the US is heavily processed foods that are literally killing us
Seasonal ingredients, we try really hard to eat seasonally and support local farms but it is not the norm in the US and requires a good bit of time and research
Olive oil > the others so important
Enjoying a meal and making the most of it
Even the order in which they eat their meals is supportive of ideal glucose management
