Favorite Things - Week of October 30th

So instead of favorite things from this past week this is really move favorite things from the entire month of October since I didn’t keep up posting throughout the month! October has always been my favorite month of the year and even though September felt more like October to me being out in Colorado now and having the seasons change earlier.

Favorite things from October:

  • Having Matt back in town after some travel and fall hikes with chilly temps and changing leaves

  • Sweaters & a growing bump. Baby girl is really starting to grow! Officially entered the third trimester this past week. I also finally broke down and got my hair colored last week but honestly I am still getting used to the darker color so not quite sure it is a “favorite thing” this week. It was a much needed refresh but a little more drastic of a change than I was expecting.

  • My sister and brother in law came in town to visit one weekend. We enjoyed showing them around, checking out some new restaurants, catching up and hiking at Brainard lakes. The Brainard lakes area is quickly becoming one of our favorite areas near denver, we had a gorgeous day for the hike, saw a moose on the way up and even got a little treat of a quick snow shower as we started to head down.

  • Enjoying a couple of different fall candles - I grabbed a spiced chai candle from Sprouts that I loved and also couldn’t help but get the Half Baked Harvest pumpkin smash!

  • Having a fire in the firepit in our backyard - we got a large firewood delivery this month and got some good use out of our solo stove in the evenings. I love a cozy indoor fire too but we tried to take advantage of the nice evenings before it gets dark so early with outdoor ones in October before moving inside as it cools off more later in the season

  • Carving pumpkins even though we are old we still enjoy carving pumpkins and do it most years

  • We also drove down to New Mexico one weekend to explore a different area and catch up with some friends that recently moved down there. While they are in a pretty remote area, it was absolutely stunning! We came across some bison on our way in, did a bonfire with smores friday night, took the pups for a hike around the lake Saturday before exploring the beautiful property and trying out archery which was really fun!
