Fall favorites

my favorite Ethically Produced & Sustainable Pieces for the fall/winter season

I am almost always ready for all of the wonderful things that comes along with fall when it is time for the seasons to change!  I love the crisp mornings, enjoying a fire with a good glass of red wine, watching the leaves changing and football season. And all of the soups :)  My husband is rolling his eyes reading this because I get so excited about making soup in fall.

This year is a little different for me just because we had the most amazing summer and for once I am not quite ready for it to be over.  We got married, went on our honeymoon and traveled to Banff… going to be a tough season to top! But regardless of how great of a summer it was, fall is here and fall clothes are by far my favorite - possibly because I do really like being comfortable and often catch myself sacrificing style for comfort but in fall feel like even the comfy stuff is cute!

Here are a few picks of mine that I have either already treated myself to or am looking for on poshmark for a good price, and what I am not able to get myself may end up finding its way onto my Christmas list.

Tops/Dresses

Vetta The Flounce Sleeve Blouse in the black and white print, this one is probably going to make my Christmas list this year. Vetta Capsule is all about getting the most use out of their items so this top can be worn several different ways, with the buttons in the front or the back and tied for more of a cropped look.

Amour Vert Belicia Sweater I Already broke down and treated myself to this one and have already gotten a ton of wear out of it.  The color is perfect for fall, I love the slouched look and it has a super fun twist and open back. I ordered a small in this one, I could have worn the xs but it is a little on the shorter side so I would suggest sizing up just a little.

Carve Whitcomb Sweater I also purchased this one for myself, I love the boxy fit and it is super soft! The only thing I don’t love about it is the arms are really long. For that reason I ended up sizing down to an xs because the sleeves on the small were way too long for me. Also make sure to pay attention to their return policy! They don’t accept returns or exchanges on sale items and I got the Birch Mariner color which was on sale so am stuck with the small. And shameless plug if you like it and want a small I know of a good deal on one currently listed on poshmark, hit me up! :)

Shoes

M. Gemi The Cerchio shoe this shoe has been called the "the slip-on sneakers literally everyone wants" by Refinery 29 and I absolutely fall into that “everyone.” These shoes are handmade in Italy and perfect for everyday wear. But they are pricey… so I have been watching for my size and colors I like on Poshmark but this may also end up being on my Christmas wish list!

St. Agni Bunto Loafers I have been eyeing these for over a year now (these are also pricey) and recently found my size on poshmark. These are handmade in Australia, are super comfortable and easy to slip on with about any look. Their website suggests sizing up a size, I did that and ordered a 7 (I am normally a 6) and they work but honestly I probably would have been fine with a 6. Kellie from the wholehearted wardrobe did a more detailed review on her site and also said her normal size worked. These have already become my go-to shoes to slip on for work and imagine that to continue through this season and even into next spring.

Fortress of Inca Elise Bootie in the stone color. Livvyland recently featured this brand on her blog and while she doesn’t soley feature ethical and sustainable brands, she refers to the company as “the tops” when it comes to a brand you want to wear and support and I couldn’t agree more! They are high quality, ethically handmade in Peru and care about every detail, especially their shoemaking partners. I took advantage of a promo code she had and LOVE LOVE LOVE these new booties. They were a little more expensive than I wanted to pay but I can already tell my cost per wear on these will average out just fine. They are the softest leather I think I have ever felt and go with just about any fall look.

Outerwear & denim

Patagonia Bomber Vest I have a black puffer vest that I have worn for about 8 years now and every year I get excited to pull it back out once temperatures start to drop off. I have worried in the past about if I would be able to find a replacement that I like as much when this one sees its last day and I think I have finally found one that may work.

Patagonia Nano-Puff Jacket two call outs for Patagonia because I love everything they do to steer the fashion industry in the right direction! My mom has this one and I have been borrowing it and don’t want to have to give it back! Easily lightweight packable yet still warm and cozy

Raleigh denim surry mid rise - these are by far my favorite jeans!  I got a pair probably 2 years out of college for a christmas gift and they were the most expensive pair of jeans I had ever owned and also the first pair of ethically made denim I ever had.  And guess what they have lasted me and done me well for the past 7… yes SEVEN years! And they are just now getting to the point that they are really worn and while may still work a little distressed for a casual weekend look they are ready to be upgraded if I want to keep wearing them to work (which I do about twice a week!).  While they are pricey they are probably the best cost per wear item I have ever owned!
